IIT Indore's Ujjain Satellite Campus Secures Central Government Approval
Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav announced the green light for IIT Indore’s Ujjain satellite campus, marking a pivotal moment for education and skill development. With approval from Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, this project promises substantial benefits for the region.
The approval of IIT Indore’s Ujjain satellite campus underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing educational opportunities. CM Yadav highlighted the significance of this initiative, emphasizing its potential to empower students, teachers, and industrial workers.
IIT Indore has drafted the first Detailed Project Report (DPR) for establishing a satellite center in Ujjain. Spanning across 100 acres, it will focus on international-level research and advanced education—a pioneering educational institution in the nation.
The new educational center will have autonomy in its administrative and academic matters. It will significantly contribute to promoting employment and self-employment, and will include student hostels and staff accommodations.
CM Sharma engaged in strategic discussions with Union Education Minister Pradhan in New Delhi, focusing on key education and skill development agendas. This dialogue paved the way for effective collaboration and streamlined implementation of educational initiatives.
Madhya Pradesh is making strides in skill development, with a focus on future-oriented courses. Collaborations with IIT Delhi have facilitated the rollout of courses like AR/VR, IoT, AI, and Blockchain, aimed at equipping youth with relevant skills.
Under the Sankalp Yojana, the state is actively running skill development programs, with significant participation from youth. These initiatives are instrumental in enhancing employability and fostering entrepreneurship among the youth.
The establishment of a Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and AR/VR, in collaboration with IIT Delhi, signifies a strategic move towards fostering technological expertise. This initiative will contribute to the advancement of the innovation ecosystem in Madhya Pradesh.
IIT Delhi’s appointment as the technical advisor for courses at Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park reflects a commitment to quality training aligned with industry needs.
