Mathikettan National Park is in Kerala, India, located in Poopara village of Idukki district. Declared a National Park in 2003, it also serves as an important elephant corridor between nearby protected forests areas.
The name Mathikettan comes from a Tamil phrase meaning ”one who losses his mind.” Local people say that anyone entering deep into the park can get confused and lose their way.
