Satnam Singh and Salman Khan – Bronze in Men’s Double Sculls

Satnam Singh and Salman Khan won India’s first medal on Day 5 when they claimed bronze in the men’s double sculls rowing event final. The Indian pair finished third with a timing of 6:13.25, behind China’s Yi Xudi and Yide Nie (gold) and Uzbekistan’s Mekhrojbek Mamatkulov and Pavel Sorin (silver).

Naorem Roshibina Devi – Silver in Women’s 60kg Wushu

Naorem Roshibina Devi claimed the silver medal in the women’s 60kg Sanda event, having lost 0-2 to China’s Zhang Xiaoyu in the final round. Zhang won in both rounds with a scoreline of 5-0. Roshibina won the second medal in three consecutive Asian Games, having won bronze at Jakarta 2018 and silver at Hangzhou 2023.

India Records Several Wins in Team Matches

The Indian men’s kabaddi team registered the complete group stage triumph when they won against the Chinese Taipei with the score of 37-21.

This win ensured that the team emerged top of Group A, having won all four matches in the group stage.

In hockey, India’s men’s team locked horns with South Korea in an important Pool A encounter. This contest was one of the major team contest matches of India on Day 5.
