India, Indonesia Seal BrahMos and Astra Missile Deals, Sign 14 Strategic Agreements
India and Indonesia have strengthened Comprehensive Strategic Partnership by signing 14 agreements in various areas such as defence, maritime security, trade, digital payments, education, space, and critical minerals. The agreements are believed to be of great importance since they were made known during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s trip to Jakarta on 7 July 2026. One notable aspect of this development is Indonesia’s intention to purchase India’s BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles along with Astra Beyond-Visual-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (BVRAAMs).
In connection with his three-nation tour of Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia met high-level bilateral discussions in Jakarta.
