India Successfully Test-Fires Agni-4 Ballistic Missile from Odisha
The India has achieved the successful test launch of the Agni-4 medium range ballistic missile (MRBM) from the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, Odisha, on August 6, 2026. The test launch of the Agni-4, which is managed by the Strategic Forces Command (SFC), established the performance of all the operational and technical parameters of the missile, proving India’s increasing capacity for strategic deterrence. It is yet another significant achievement for the indigenous missile programme of India under the aegis of the DRDO, making India capable of maintaining an effective strategic defence posture.
The Ministry of Defence of India confirmed the successful testing of the Agni-4 missile from the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, Odisha.
The Agni-4 missile was tested by the Strategic Forces Command (SFC), the organisation which manages India’s strategic nuclear arsenal.
As per the official sources, all the operational and technical parameters of the missile were tested successfully.
The Agni-4 is a domestically built medium-range ballistic missile and an integral part of India’s Agni series of missiles.
It has been designed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) to improve India’s strategic deterrent.
