The Indian National Congress was established in 1885 and became one of the most important political parties before the Independence and during the pre-independence of India. The founders of the Indian National Congress were Allan Octavian Hume, Dadabhai Naoroji, and Dinshaw Edulji Wacha. It was the first modern nationalist movement to emerge in the British Empire in Asia and Africa.
The first session of the Indian National Congress was held in 1885 in Bombay from 28th Dec to 31st of December. The first president of the National Congress was Mr Womesh Chandra Bonnerjee in which 72 delegates participated.
