Indian Skydiver Shital Mahajan Makes History Near Mt Everest

Shital Mahajan’s Achievements:

Shital Mahajan is a renowned Indian skydiver with numerous records to her name. Her remarkable accomplishments include holding several skydiving records and being honored with the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award in India, in 2001.

Ms. Mahajan’s series of high-altitude skydives in the Everest region showcase her courage and expertise. On November 11, she took her first leap from an altitude of 17,500 feet, successfully landing at 12,500 feet at Syangboche airport. Skydiving legend Wendy Smith from New Zealand served as her instructor during this daring jump.

National Record for Highest Flag Skydiving Landing:

On November 12, Ms. Mahajan achieved another milestone by performing a flag jump with the Indian flag at Syangboche airport from 8,000 feet. Accompanied by skydiving legends Wendy Elizabeth Smith and Nadia Solovyeva, she secured the national record for the highest flag Skydiving landing by a woman.
