India’s Top 10 Safest Cities 2025 Check If Your City Made the List
Safety is one of the most crucial factors in determining a city’s livability, and in 2025, India’s urban safety map has shown some interesting patterns. According to the mid-2025 Numbeo Safety Index, India ranked 67th globally with a safety score of 55.8. While the overall national ranking leaves room for improvement, some cities have emerged as beacons of safety, offering their residents a secure and peaceful environment.
The latest report places Mangalore at the top of the list as India’s safest city, followed closely by Vadodara, Ahmedabad, and Surat—showcasing Gujarat’s strong presence in safety rankings. The Numbeo Safety Index evaluates cities based on factors such as crime rates, law enforcement efficiency, and public perceptions of safety. A higher Safety Index indicates lower crime and better public security.
