Infosys Appoints Ashiss Dash as Next CEO, As Salil Parekh to Exit in 2027

Ashiss Dash announced as the new CEO and Managing Director (MD) of Infosys. Dash will be officially starting his tenure as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) on the 1st of April, 2027, as soon as the current CEO, Salil Parekh, finishes his second term on the 31st of March, 2027. The appointment is significant because it happens during a period of rapid change in the global IT landscape marked by artificial Intelligence (AI), automation of processes, and the requirement for the IT service providers to adapt to changes in the expectations of their clients.

Infosys Appoints Ashiss Dash as CEO

Infosys has declared Ashiss Dash as CEO, effective immediately. The decision was made by the Board upon the advice of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

From April 1, 2027, Dash will start his term in the capacity of CEO and Managing Director for five years.

This appointment is particularly important since he will be the first internally sourced CEO in the company’s history. The previous CEOs, Salil Parekh and Vishal Sikka were hired from other companies.

  • Joined Infosys back in 1995 as a Senior Engagement Engineer.
  • Graduated from IIT Kharagpur in 1994.
  • He has been tasked with executing diverse business portfolio on a worldwide level today.
  • In the past, he has managed the business segment that is in-charge of Energy, Utilities, and Resources (EURS).
  • He spent almost ten years in Los Angeles before shifting back to Bengaluru.

In his career, he has held crucial leadership posts in the different markets all around the globe and has also been closely engaged in business growth and digital transformation activities.

Salil Parekh’s 9-year era in Infosys

Salil took over as Infosys CEO in the year 2018 after Vishal Sikka quit in uncertain times.
