ISKCON and NSDC Collaborate for Tribal Skill Development

In a bid to empower tribal and underprivileged youth across India, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) have joined forces. The partnership aims to provide vocational training to marginalized communities, initially focusing on Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.

Empowering Through Vocational Training

Under this strategic partnership, short-term courses will be conducted, offering industry-recognized certifications through the Skill India Digital Hub platform. The goal is to enhance employability and provide access to both domestic and international job opportunities for the trained individuals, facilitated by NSDC International.

Establishment of Culinary School

ISKCON’s initiative includes the establishment of a Culinary School specifically aimed at empowering tribal youth from regions such as Palghar and Gadchiroli in Maharashtra, as well as neighboring states. The trained individuals will have employment opportunities at the Maha Kumbh Kitchen in Prayagraj in 2025, with provisions for international placements through NSDC International.

Projects for Sustainable Development

Two additional projects are slated for implementation. The first project seeks to replicate the success of the Govardhan Eco Village (GEV) in regions like Nandurbar (Maharashtra), Jaipur Rural (Rajasthan), and Mandla and Balaghat (Madhya Pradesh). The second project focuses on skill development in sectors such as Hospitality, Retail, and Logistics, with the establishment of Skill India Centers in partnership with ISKCON.
