Keerthy Suresh Becomes UNICEF India’s Celebrity Advocate for Child Rights
In a significant step toward promoting child rights and mental health, acclaimed actor Keerthy Suresh has been appointed as UNICEF India’s Celebrity Advocate. With a reputation for powerful performances in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi cinema, Keerthy now joins the global movement for children’s welfare, lending her voice and influence to amplify issues that affect India’s young population.
As UNICEF India’s advocate, Keerthy Suresh will focus on children’s mental health, emotional well-being, and the broader spectrum of child rights. Her role includes raising awareness and inspiring action to ensure that every child—regardless of background, gender, or ability—has the opportunity to thrive in a safe, supportive environment.
Keerthy expressed her commitment, saying, “Children are our greatest responsibility and our greatest hope. I have always believed that nurturing, loving care builds the foundation for children to develop the social and emotional skills they need to lead happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives.”
Cynthia McCaffrey, UNICEF India Representative, lauded Keerthy’s deep connection with audiences across the country, describing it as a powerful platform to advocate for vulnerable children. “As UNICEF India’s Celebrity Advocate, she brings passion and influence to our shared mission to reach every child, especially the most vulnerable, with quality support and services,” she remarked.
This collaboration aims to reach millions, using Keerthy’s popularity to shine a spotlight on critical child-related issues, particularly mental health challenges faced by children and adolescents.
Keerthy Suresh, who won the National Film Award for her role in “Mahanati,” is widely known for portraying strong, socially relevant characters. Her films often reflect themes of gender equality, empowerment, and social change, aligning seamlessly with UNICEF’s mission to create a fair and just environment for every child.
Keerthy Suresh’s collaboration with UNICEF India represents more than just celebrity advocacy—it symbolizes a national push to destigmatize mental health, promote education, and uphold the fundamental rights of children. With her influence, UNICEF aims to strengthen public awareness and community participation in child welfare initiatives across India.
