Kerala set to trial plasma therapy for COVID-19 treatment

Kerala becomes the 1st state of India to start clinical trial plasma therapy for COVID-19 treatment. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has given approval to Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, to start clinical trial convalescent plasma therapy treatment.

What is Convalescent plasma therapy?

Convalescent plasma therapy is a technique to take the plasma of patients who have completely recovered from coronavirus because it is going to be rich in antibodies and a few small studies are wiped out China and therefore the United States where that they had tried the plasma therapy technique. Their plasma is collected and infused into COVID-19 patients who are critically ill and whose system cannot fight the virus.
