Kohli Creates History, Achieves 9000 T20 Runs for RCB

Virat Kohli, the star player of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), has made history in T20 cricket. He became the first cricketer ever to score 9,000 T20 runs for a single franchise. This record was achieved during RCB’s last league match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow.

How He Reached the Milestone?

Kohli’s 9,000 runs include performances from both the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Champions League T20 (CLT20).

  • Before the match, he had 8,976 runs in 279 matches and 270 innings.
  • He had an average of 39.54 and a strike rate of 133.49.
  • His record included 8 centuries and 64 half-centuries, with a top score of 113 not out.

IPL Records of Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is also the top run-scorer in IPL history.

  • He has scored 8,552 runs in 264 IPL matches.
  • His average is 39.59, and he has scored 8 centuries and 62 fifties.
  • His highest IPL score is also 113 not out.

Performance in Champions League T20 (CLT20)

In the now-ended CLT20 tournament, Kohli also performed well:

  • He scored 424 runs in 15 matches.
  • His average was 38.54, and his strike rate was 150.35.
  • He scored two fifties, with a best score of 84 not out.

Kohli’s Current Form in IPL 2025

This season, Kohli has been in excellent form.

  • He has scored 548 runs in 12 innings.
  • He is averaging 60.88 with a strike rate of 145.35.
  • He has already hit seven fifties, with a highest score of 73 not out.
  • Kohli is currently sixth in the list of top run-scorers in IPL 2025.

RCB’s Playoff Chances

If RCB wins against LSG, they will finish in the top two of the points table.

  • This means they will play Qualifier 1 against Punjab Kings (PBKS).
  • Finishing in the top two gives two chances to reach the final.
