Krishna Kumar Thakur Appointed as Director (Personnel) at NMDC
A 1998 batch officer Krishna Kumar Thakur has assumed charge as Director (Personnel) at NMDC Limited. NMDC is India’s largest iron ore producer. He joined services as Indian Railway Personnel Service officer. He brings over two decades of experience in human resource management across Indian Railways and public sector enterprises.
The appointment marks an important step in enhancing the HR leadership within the organization. He officially took charge on March 20 2026, as part of firm efforts to build a more efficient and people-centric system.
As coming from strong background HR administration and policy implementation he is expected to play a key role in improving employee engagement and productivity.
As Director (Personnel) he brings vast experience in public sector human resource management. He has also served across major railway divisions such as Solapur, Bhopal and Mumbai.
As Chairman of the Railway Recruitment Cell Western Railway he supervised the recruitment of nearly 12,000 employees. This breakthrough showcasing his expertise in large-scale hiring and workforce planning.
His credential as Director (Personnel) post highly backed by strong academic performance of him.
He is an alumnus of Tilka Manjhi University in Bhagalpur with a postgraduate degree in Literature.
He also holds the PGDM in Human Resources from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and it is one of India’s premier institutions.
Before he joined, he held significant positions in major public sector organizations. At RITES Limited he also worked on an international train operations project in Saudi Arabia.
He also headed the HR at Konkan Railway Corporation Limited. In where he streamlined HR policies.
Later as Director (HR) at BHEL he introduced reforms such as uniform incentive schemes.
