Since Bangladesh gained independence in 1971, its political history has been marked by instability. The political landscape has since oscillated between Awami League and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) dominance, with periods of military rule. Her tenure is noted for economic growth, though it has faced criticism for authoritarianism and human rights issues.

First Prime Minister of Bangladesh

Tajuddin Ahmad served as the first Prime Minister of Bangladesh from April 17, 1971, to January 12, 1972. Leading during the crucial period of the country’s independence, he played a key role in the liberation struggle against Pakistan. Ahmad’s leadership was instrumental in the early administration and stabilization of the new nation. His tenure set the foundation for Bangladesh’s political and administrative structure post-independence.
