  • At the heart of the decision to demolish was Stadium Director Azmi Rahman, who revealed, “In inspections carried out in 2020, it was concluded that the structure posed safety risks.

New Goal

  • The Malaysian Ministry of Sports revealed plans for a new stadium. Ministry spokesperson Lim Chee Wah stated, “Our goal is to complete the new stadium by 2029, incorporating state-of-the-art technologies.
  • It will feature a movable roof and be designed for special event modes.

Low Capacity to earlier

  • However, this new venture comes with a caveat: the new stadium’s capacity will be reduced to between 35,000 and 45,000, leaving some fans disheartened.
