Manika Vishwakarma: India's Bright Hope at Miss Universe 2025
The name on everyone’s lips this year is Manika Vishwakarma, a 22-year-old from Rajasthan who is proudly representing India at the global Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand. She earned the coveted Miss Universe India 2025 crown in August after an impressive competition and now carries the hopes of a billion people on the international stage.
Manika hails from the city of Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan. These days, she calls Delhi home while finishing her final year studying Political Science and Economics at Delhi University. Her academic background gives her a strong voice, something she showed off when she won the national crown in Jaipur on August 18, 2025. Before that, she held the title of Miss Universe Rajasthan, marking her steady climb through the beauty pageant ranks.
What helped Manika stand out at the Miss Universe India pageant? Besides her poise and charm, her ability to give clear, compelling answers won over the judges. When asked whether she would prioritize women’s education over financial aid for low-income families, she chose education, arguing that it’s the most powerful tool to break poverty cycles.
Manika’s talents go beyond pageants and politics. She is trained in classical dance and is a skilled painter recognized by both the Lalit Kala Akademi and the JJ School of Art. Her creativity and artistic flare are a big part of her personality.
But what truly sets Manika apart is her passion for social causes. She’s an advocate for neurodivergence, dedicating her work to raising awareness about conditions like ADHD. She even founded Neuronova, an initiative aimed at changing the way society discusses and understands these issues.
The 74th Miss Universe competition will take place on November 21, 2025, at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand. The current titleholder, Victoria Theilvig from Denmark, will pass her crown to the next Miss Universe, and Manika is among the top contenders aiming for the global title.
India has a proud history in this contest, with three winners who have become international icons: Sushmita Sen (1994), Lara Dutta (2000), and Harnaaz Sandhu (2021). Manika Vishwakarma hopes to continue that legacy and bring the crown back home once again for India after just four years since the last win.
Manika’s story is not just about beauty or titles. It’s about ambition, intelligence, and using her platform for meaningful change. From her strong academic background to her artistic pursuits and social advocacy, she embodies a new generation of Indian women ready to shine on the world stage.
As we cheer for Manika in Thailand, her journey reminds us how determination and heart can open doors beyond imagination.
