Manish Narwal Secures Silver in Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 Event at Paris Paralympics 2024

Indian shooter Manish Narwal has earned a silver medal in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 event at the Paris Paralympics 2024. This victory adds to India’s growing success at the Games, bringing the country’s total medal count to four.

A Tough Competition for Silver

Manish Narwal, just 22 years old, delivered an impressive performance in the final of the Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 event. He scored 234.9 points, which earned him the silver medal. Narwal was leading after the initial rounds, but South Korea’s Jeongdu Jo pulled ahead to win the gold with a score of 237.4. China’s Chao Yang took the bronze with 214.3 points.

This silver medal continues Narwal’s successful career in shooting. At the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, he won a gold medal in the Mixed 50m Pistol event. His ability to excel in different shooting events shows his skill and consistency as a top para-athlete.

A Great Day for Indian Shooting

Narwal’s silver was one of three shooting medals India won on the same day at the Paris Paralympics. Earlier, Avani Lekhara won gold in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1, while Mona Agarwal earned a bronze in the same event. This was especially special for Mona as it was her first time competing in the Paralympics.

The success of these Indian shooters shows the country’s growing strength in the sport of shooting. It also reflects the hard work and training these athletes have put in, along with the support they receive from various sports organizations in India.

Narwal’s Journey: From Tokyo Gold to Paris Silver

Manish Narwal’s journey to success has been remarkable. Born with a condition that affects his limbs, Narwal has never let this hold him back. Instead, he has focused on becoming one of the world’s top para-shooters.

His gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics was a major achievement, proving his talent and determination. Competing in a different event in Paris, the 10m air pistol, he once again showed his skill by securing a silver medal.
