Uttar Pradesh is the fourth largest state in India, covering a total area of 240,928 square kilometers, which constitutes about 7.33% of India’s total land area. It is also the most populous state, with its population surpassing 240 million as of recent estimates, up from 199.8 million recorded in the 2011 census. This state is rich in history and cultural heritage, attracting numerous domestic and international tourists each year.

Uttar Pradesh is divided into 75 districts, which are organized into 18 divisions and four regions: Purvanchal (Eastern Uttar Pradesh), Central Uttar Pradesh, Bundelkhand, and Western Uttar Pradesh. Western Uttar Pradesh is considered the most industrially developed region. The state comprises 351 tehsils, 822 community development blocks, 28 development authorities, and 17 municipal corporations.

In terms of area, Lakhimpur Kheri is the largest district in Uttar Pradesh, spanning 7,680 square kilometers. On the other hand, Hapur is the smallest district, covering an area of 660 square kilometers.
