Mumbai Hosts 19th International Film Festival as Global Cinema Community Gathers for MIFF 2026

The 19th edition of the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) begins on 15th June, 2026 in Mumbai and it marked the another significant milestone for the Asia’s one of the most respected film festivals which is dedicated to the non-feature cinema. It is organized by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and this festival serves as the global platform for the documentary filmmakers, animators, short fiction creators and emerging storytellers.

Mumbai International Film Festival 2026 Begins

The festival opened with the grand inaugural ceremony at Ravindra Natya Mandir in the Mumbai.

Several filmmakers, artists, delegates and industry experts from the various countries have gathered to celebrate the excellence in documentary filmmaking, animation, short fiction and AI-powered storytelling.

Over the period of years, MIFF has evolved into the significant international platform that encourages the dialogue on social, cultural, environmental and technological issues through cinema.
