Museveni Secures Seventh Term in Uganda As President
Uganda has concluded a closely watched presidential election with a decisive outcome. Veteran leader Yoweri Museveni has been declared the winner for a seventh term. However, the results have sparked controversy as the main opposition candidate rejected the outcome, citing irregularities, internet shutdowns, and alleged harassment of polling agents. The election has again put Uganda’s democratic process under global scrutiny.
Uganda’s election commission declared President Museveni winner with 71.65% votes. Opposition leader Bobi Wine rejected the results, alleging fraud and calling for peaceful protests.
