Myanmar Military Chief Min Aung Hlaing Becomes President After Parliament Vote

As the Min Aung Hlaing was elected president on the 3rd of April, 2026 with securing the clear majority in the country’s Union Parliament. The presidential election was held in the Nay Pyi Taw and comes at that time when the ongoing political uncertainty following from the last couple of years by the military influence in governance. As the 429 out of 584 votes have led to Min Aung Hlaing to secure victory.
