NEHHDC Announces Mara Kocho as Incoming Managing Director

Mara Kocho has been recommended as the next Managing Director (MD) of the North Eastern Handicrafts & Handlooms Development Corporation Limited (NEHHDC), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER). His appointment was approved by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on 11th November, 2024. 

Mara Kocho Appointed as Next MD of NEHHDC

• Mara Kocho has been recommended as the new MD of North Eastern Handicrafts & Handlooms Development Corporation Limited (NEHHDC).
• NEHHDC is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER).
• The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel recommended Kocho for the role on November 11.

Current Position

• At present, Mara Kocho serves as Chief Engineer (Elect.) at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).

Selection Process

• Kocho was selected from a list of two candidates interviewed by the PESB panel.
• Another candidate under consideration was from Ratnagiri Gas & Power Pvt. Limited.

Responsibilities as MD of NEHHDC

• As MD, Kocho will be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NEHHDC.
• He will be accountable to the board of directors and the government/shareholders of the corporation.
• Kocho will be responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning of NEHHDC and meeting its corporate objectives and performance parameters.

• Brigadier Rajiv Kumar Singh (Retd) served as MD of NEHHDC.
