New EPFO Digital Platform to Help Users Recover Dormant PF Accounts

The Employees Provident Fund Organization is set to launch the new digital platform called the E-PRAAPTI. It was announced by the Mansukh Mandaviya this initiative aims to helps the users to trace and reactivate the dormant or unclaimed provident fund accounts even without the Universal Account Number (UAN). The move showcases the government’s push towards the digital governance, transparency and the user empowerment.

What is E-PRAAPTI Portal?

E-PRAAPTI which stands for  the EPF Aadhaar-Based Access Portal to Tracking the Inoperative Accounts and it is a new digital system which is designed to help the individuals manage their old or the inactive provident fund accounts.

The platform will use the Aadhaar-based authentication and allows the users to access their accounts independently without relying on  the employers.

This will particularly beneficial for those individuals who have changed their jobs multiple times or lost track of their EPF details.

Initially the portal will function using the Member ID-based system and enables husers to retrieve account details easily.

Key Features of the New EPFO Platform

The E-PRAAPTI portal introduced the several user-friendly features which are aimed at improving accessibility and efficiency.

Also the users can securely log in using Aadhaar and ensuring the quick and reliable identity verification.

This platform will allows the individuals to trace and reactivate the inactive or unclaimed EPF accounts and event those which are not linked to UAN.

Also the subscribers can manage their accounts independently, and eliminate the need for employer intervention in most cases.

In later phases this system will support the users who may have not remember their Member ID and making it even more inclusive.

Boost to Digital Transformation in EPFO

The launch of E-PRAAPTI is part of the EPFO’s broader effort to  modernize the its services and reduce paperwork.

The organization has already made the significant progress in which the total,

  • 83.1 million claims settled in the FY 2025–26 which is up from 60.1 million in FY 2024–25.
  • Also the majority of claims now processed digitally.
  • The simplified procedures like removal of the cheque uploads.
  • Also the faster bank account linking and verification.

These changes have made the system more efficient and the user-friendly.

Faster Claim Settlements and Automation

One of the important improvements in EPFO services is the rise in the automated claim processing.

  • In FY 2025–26 total 55.1 million advance claims were processed.
  • Also the 71.11% of these claims were settled within three days.
  • The overall, 98.70% of claims were resolved within the just 20 days.
