Nitish Kumar to Take Rajya Sabha Oath on April 10 – What’s Next?

Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar is set to take oath as a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament on the 10th of April, 2026.  And he will soon resign as the post of Chief Minister of Bihar after the Rajya Sabha process. As this move seen to be historic as he had served the State for the long period of time and state’s longest serving Chief Minister. The state will now get the new CM face after Nitish Kumar resignation and new chapter awaits for the Bihar political history.

As he became the member of the Council of States (Rajya Sabha) he has achieved the new landmark.

  • Lok Sabha (Lower House of Parliament)
  • Bihar Legislative Assembly
  • Bihar Legislative Council

However he has never been a member of the Rajya Sabha before but with this he will become small group of leaders who have served the all four bodies. He will stand with the personality like Lalu Prasad Yadav and the late Sushil Kumar Modi.
