In a thrilling continuation of its inaugural success, Ultimate Kho Kho (UKK) is all set to enthrall audiences with its grand second edition, scheduled to commence on December 24, 2023 and conclude on January 13, 2024. The Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack, Odisha, will play host to this high-octane sporting event, promising excitement and entertainment to the millions of fans eagerly anticipating its return.
Inspired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s vision of ‘sports for youth, youth for the future,’ the Odisha government has emerged as a hub for major global sports events. Boasting world-class multi-sport infrastructure, Odisha has become a destination for sports enthusiasts. The state’s commitment to fostering sports is evident in its role as the host for the second edition of Ultimate Kho Kho.
Tusharkanti Behera, Minister of State, Electronics & IT, Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha, expressed excitement about hosting the event. He emphasized the significance of bringing the second edition to Odisha, highlighting Kho-Kho’s popularity in the state. The government is dedicated to ensuring the season’s success and aims to inspire the people of Odisha to actively engage in the sport.
The organizers extended their gratitude to the Odisha Government and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for their support in Season 2. Tenzing Niyogi, CEO and League Commissioner of Ultimate Kho-Kho, acknowledged the success of the inaugural edition, which attracted interest from brands and secured new partnerships. The focus remains on selecting partners who align with the league’s long-term vision.
The upcoming season will feature India’s top 145 players, showcasing the best talent in the country. Notably, 33 young talents aged between 16 to 18 will add a youthful vigor to the competition. Six franchises, including defending champions Odisha Juggernauts, Chennai Quick Guns, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Khiladis, Rajasthan Warriors and Telugu Yoddhas, will compete for the coveted crown.
The CEO and League Commissioner, Tenzing Niyogi, promised an immersive TV viewing experience in Season 2. With a focus on younger talent, intensified rivalries, thrilling action and innovative gameplay, the league aims to create new-age superstars and redefine the sports viewing experience.
