OPPO India set up first PPP-model Atal Tinkering Lab in Kerala

The collaboration of OPPO India with NITI Aayog’s Atal innovation mission established the first ever Atal Tinkering Lab which is based on the PPP model.

OPPO India set up first PPP (Public- Private Partnership) model Atal Tinkering Lab in Kerala in collaboration with NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission as its knowledge partner.

Atal Tinkering Lab:

The Atal Tinkering Lab was inaugurated on 10^th July at St Paul’s CEHSS in Kuriachira, Thrissur by Rajeev Chandrashekhar, the Minister of State of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Information Technology.

Till 2022, 10,000 ATLs were established across 35 States and UTs in India through government grants.

Objectives of Atal Tinkering Lab:

The primary objective of this initiative is to create an empowered future-ready workforce and nurture entrepreneurship and technological skills among the youth.

The ATL has been set up to empower school children in grades six to 12^th to develop innovative solutions.

Significance of ATL:

The establishment of ATL in collaboration with OPPO India is a significant milestone in India’s School Innovation journey. The ATL has been set up to empower school children in grades sixth to 12^th to develop innovative solutions. The students can harness cutting-edge technology tools such as 3D printing, the Internet of Things, robotics, miniaturised electronics, space technology, drone technology and technology-inspired textiles.

This collaboration adapts ‘Hubs n Space’ strategy to create an innovative learning environment through practical experiences and regular training sessions. The ATL will act as a Hub for the students from neighbouring government schools to come and conduct experiences in the lab.

Children with exceptional potential will be identified through ATL and nurtured through the Student Innovative Programme and the ATL Marathon to provide them with mentorship opportunities to prepare them to compete in national/regional contests, fostering lifelong learning.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Find More State In News Here
