PM Modi Inaugurates Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital in Mohali

Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 300-bed Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre at Mullanpur, Mohali in Chandigarh. The Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre has been built at a cost of over ₹660 crores by the Tata Memorial Centre which is an aided institute under the Union Department of Atomic Energy. Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann was also present during the inaugural ceremony of the Bhabha Cancer Hospital.

The hospital is equipped with the finest state-of-the-art facilities which include Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Digital Radiography, and Brachytherapy to ensure the treatment of all types of cancer in India. The treatment for cancer available here is surgeries, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and bone marrow transplant.

Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre: Inaugural Ceremony

During the inaugural ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the efforts of India in improving the healthcare facilities and providing healthcare that caters to the poorest of the poor. He mentioned that the Government of India has planned to open 1.50 lakh health and wellness centers in the country. Out of 1.50 lakh, 1.25 lakh centers have already started working. The government of India has worked to ensure one Medical College in each city, to increase the number of paramedics and doctors in the country. The government has been working on six aspects to ensure good health care facilities for the needy and poor people.

The Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann thanked Narendra Modi for giving Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre as a supreme gift to the state. The Hospital will help the state combat cancer, especially in the highly cancer-effected areas like the Malwa region.
