PM Modi Independence Day Speech 2026: AI Training, Saptadhara, Free Coaching and Viksit Bharat 2047

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on the occasion of 80th Independence Day of India from Red Fort on 15 August, 2026. The address, which lasted for about 75 minutes, covered a wide array of topics such as self-reliance, critical minerals and energy security, artificial intelligence, manufacturing, defence, sports, women representation and youth empowerment.

The celebrations on the 80th Independence Day of India also marked the 150th year of Vande Mataram when the national song was rendered at the Red Fort on the occasion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of ‘Yuva Shakti’ for the journey towards ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047 and presented the concept of the Saptadhara, or seven streams, which would be responsible for taking India towards further growth.

PM Modi Hoists Tricolour at Red Fort

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the National Flag at the Red Fort after his arrival at the historical venue.
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi was received by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and inspected the Guard of Honour comprised of personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Delhi Police.
• The flag-hoisting ceremony was synchronized with the 21 gun salute by the 1721 Field Battery (Ceremonial) using indigenous 105 mm Light Field Guns.
• Before the flag-hoisting ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and remembered the sacrifices of the freedom fighters of India.

150 Years of Vande Mataram

• Commemorating the 150 years of Vande Mataram was a major feature of the 2026 Independence Day celebrations of India.

One Crore Youth to be Trained in AI

• PM Modi informed that one crore youngsters would be imparted training in Artificial Intelligence.
