PM Modi Launches ₹18,600 Crore Projects in Odisha, Unveils Vision 2047 Plan

On June 20, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 105 development projects worth over ₹18,600 crore during his visit to Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He also unveiled the Odisha Vision Document, a long-term roadmap to transform the state into a $500 billion economy by 2036 and a $1.5 trillion economy by 2047, coinciding with Odisha’s centenary and India’s 100th year of independence.

Why in News?

PM Modi’s sixth visit to Odisha since the BJP formed the state government in June 2024. Launch of large-scale infrastructure and social development projects. Odisha Vision Document 2047 outlines the state’s long-term economic and social targets. Felicitation of women achievers under the Lakhpati Didi initiative and promotion of cultural heritage and eco-mobility.
