PM Modi to attend the inaugural Arun Jaitley Memorial Lecture

In the nation’s capital, at Vigyan Bhavan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the inaugural Arun Jaitley Memorial Lecture (AJML). Throughout the occasion, he will also address the group. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Senior Minister, Government of Singapore, will give the opening keynote speech at the first AJML on the topic of “Growth through Inclusivity, Inclusivity through Growth.” After the presentation, Mathias Cormann, the secretary-general of the OECD, and Arvind Panagariya will participate in a panel discussion (Professor, Columbia University).

• The first Arun Jaitley Memorial Lecture was held, according to a PMO press release, in honour of the former union minister’s significant contributions to the country.
• The Prime Minister will also engage in conversation with the participants attending the three-day Kautilya Economic Conclave (KEC), which runs from July 8 to July 10.
• Anne Krueger from John Hopkins University, Nicholas Stern from the London School of Economics, Robert Lawrence from Harvard Kennedy School, John Lipsky, a former acting managing director of the IMF, and Junaid Ahmed, the country director for India for the World Bank are just a few of the distinguished economists who will meet with the prime minister.
• The Institute of Economic Growth, with assistance from the Ministry of Finance, is organising KEC.
