PM Modi to Inaugurate Noida International Airport - Key Features, Capacity and Investment Details
India’s aviation sector is set to get a major boost as Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Noida International Airport on March 28 2026, in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. With this launch it marks the Phase I of one of India’s largest greenfield airport projects and it is designed to enhance connectivity and ease congestion in the Delhi-NCR region. The new airport will function alongside the Indira Gandhi International Airport and will be creating a dual-airport system and will strengthen India’s aviation hub.
Airport is situated in Jewar Gautam Buddha Nagar this airport will get benefit for the prime location with seamless connectivity via the Yamuna Expressway.
It is the near the proximity to Delhi and major urban centres and makes it a crucial infrastructure addition for North India.
The airport is planned as part of an integrated aviation system with IGI Airport, new Delhi.
This dual airport model aims to reduce congestion, managing increasing passenger traffic and provide better operational efficiency.
The Noida International Airport is being developed with an investment of approximately ₹11,200 crore under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
The project is executed by the Yamuna International Airport Private Limited which is the subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG.
The concession period for the project spans 40 years and it beginning from October 1, 2021.
This long-term framework will ensures the sustainable development and efficient airport management.
The airport has already received an aerodrome license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and it will be allowing it to operate under the public use category with the all weather capailities.
Phase I of this airport is designed to handle 12 million passengers per annum (MPPA) and it can get with scalability up to 70 MPPA upon full development.
This will makes it one of the most ambitious airport expansion projects in India.
