Prasar Bharti SHABD Platform Gets Free Access Extension Till 2027

The Prasar Bharati Shared Audio Visuals for Broadcast and Dissemination (PB-SHABD) platform will continue to provide free access to media organizations until March 2027. This announcement was made by Prasar Bharati which is the India’s public broadcaster. That is to encourage wider use of authentic and verified news content across media platforms. This platform was Launched in March 2024 and the PB-SHABD platform serves as a shared digital news feed that provides logo free news content in multiple formats. Media outlets can freely access and use this content without credit requirements.

What is PB-SHABD and How It Works

The PB-SHABD platform was designed as a centralized news sharing system. In which that distributes verified news content from across India. It enables the media organizations to access ready to use stories covering a wide range of sectors.

The Content on the PB-SHABD platform is available in various formats such as video clips, audio reports, text news items and photographs. Since the material is logo free the several news organizations can directly integrate it into their publications or broadcasts without editing out watermarks or branding.

Network Behind PB-SHABD

The strength of the PB-SHABD platform lies in its large nationwide network of journalists and editors. Prasar Bharati has deployed  a very high extensive reporting system to ensure coverage from every region of the country.

Around More than 1500 reporters, correspondents contribute to the PB-SHABD platform. While 60 dedicated edit desks operate round-the-clock to process and distribute news stories.

This infrastructure enables the platform to upload over 1000 news stories daily and also ensuring continuous updates for media organizations.

Wide Coverage of News Categories on PB-SHABD

The PB-SHABD platform provides news coverage across multiple sectors that are relevant for media houses and audiences.

These stories are sourced from Regional News Units (RNUs) as well as Prasar Bharati’s headquarters which is New Delhi.

The daaily news content on the PB-SHABD platform includes reports related to agriculture, technology, foreign affairs, governance and political developments.

The stories are also available in major Indian languages, ensuring accessibility for regional and national media organizations.

Live Event Coverage through PB-SHABD

Another major feature of the PB-SHABD platform is its Live Feed service. In which prasar bharti provides coverage of important national events. Media outlets can access real time feeds and integrate them into their broadcasts.

The PB-SHABD Live Feed includes coverage of national ceremonies, government events, press briefings and investiture ceremonies.

Since these live streams are logo free lot of media organizations can broadcast them directly without any additional editing.
