President Appoints Permanent Judges in Kerala & Allahabad HC
Exercising powers under the Constitution of India, the President of India, in consultation with the Chief Justice of India (CJI), has appointed new judges to the Allahabad and Kerala High Courts. These appointments include the elevation of Additional Judges to Permanent Judges, thereby strengthening the judicial system in two of the country’s key High Courts.
These appointments reflect the judicial collegium’s recommendations and the ongoing effort to fill judicial vacancies in a timely and merit-based manner.
The appointments are made under Article 217 of the Indian Constitution, which empowers the President of India, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, the Governor of the respective State, and the Chief Justice of the concerned High Court, to appoint High Court judges.
