Prime Minister Modi pens song with Grammy winner Falu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has collaborated with Falu, an Indian-American Grammy Award-winning singer, for a special song aimed at promoting the benefits of millet and its potential to address global hunger. Falu, also known as Falguni Shah, along with her husband and singer Gaurav Shah, will release the song titled “Abundance of Millets.”

In recognition of the importance of millets, the year 2023 has been designated as the ‘International Year of Millets.’ India proposed this designation, which received endorsement from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Governing Bodies and the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly.

About the “Abundance in Millets”

  • The song, written in English and Hindi, will be made accessible to everybody and highlights the power of millets.
  • On June 16, 2023, Falu and Gaurav Shah will release a track titled “Abundance in Millets,” featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This release coincides with the International Year of Millets, a year designated to highlight the significance of millets in addressing global hunger. The song aims to raise awareness about millets as a potential solution to combat world hunger.
  • Falu, who won the Grammy Award for Best Children’s Album in 2022 for her album “A Colorful World,” was inspired to create a song about millets after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi following her Grammy win. Earlier this year, Falu had the opportunity to perform at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad during a cricket match between India and Australia.
