R. Mukundan Succeeds Rajiv Memani as CII President for 2026–27
CEO and Managing Director of Tata Chemicals of Tata Chemicals, R Mukundan assumed the office as president of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He appointed for a period of 2026-27. He will succeeds the Rajiv Memani and he will bring the more than three decades of leadership experience form the Tata group.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) announced that Mr. R Mukundan has taken over as president for the 2026-27 term.
He replaces the Rajiv Memani who had completed his tenure.
He was already serving as president designate during the period of 2025-26 and making this transition part of the organization’s planned leadership structure.
The appointment will places veteran corporate leader at the centre of the India’s policy business dialogue.
R Mukundan is a senior Tata Group executive with over 30 years of experience across the multiple industries.
His leadership journey spans across the major sectors such as,

Suchitra K Ella, Managing Director of Bharat Biotech has taken charge as the CII President-Designate for 2026-27.
Also, Shashwat Goenka has become the Vice-President of the CII for the same term.
Goenka currently serves as the major corporate leader within the RP-Sanjiv Goenka business group and he has previously chaired the CII’s eastern regional council.
