Rajat Sharma Re-Elected as NBDA President for 2026-27

India TV chairman & editor-in-chief Rajat Sharma has been elected as the president of News Broadcasters and Digital Association (NBDA) for 2026-27 in a unanimous decision taken by the association’s board of directors during their meeting held on September 23, 2026. The association showed confidence in Rajat Sharma as their next leader. This comes after the 19th Annual General Meeting of NBDA wherein board of directors of the association were also announced that include Jayant Mammen Mathew of MM TV.

Rajat Sharma Re-Elected NBDA President

Sharma will continue to head the NBDA for yet another tenure after being elected unanimously by the association’s board of directors.

The NBDA is a forum of top news and current affairs broadcasters in India and also acts as an industry association for television and digital news broadcasters.

As per the association, there are 29 leading news and current affairs broadcasters forming part of the NBDA and these include 130 news channels and digital platforms.

Jayant Mammen Mathew Joins NBDA Board

NBDA also made Jayant Mammen Mathew from MM TV a member of its Board of Directors.

He was inducted at the 19th Annual General Meeting of the association, which took place prior to the board meeting that saw the re-election of Sharma as the president.

This is yet another important media representative who has joined the governing board of this organisation.

Two New Permanent Directors of NBDA

NBDA also had some announcements regarding permanent directors of the association.

These include Rachna Burman, who works as the director-public policy and content assurance for The Times Group, and Kshipra Jatana, who is the group general counsel of Network18 Media & Investments.
