Rajnath Singh to Participate in 10th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus in Jakarta

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to attend the 10th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM Plus) in Jakarta, Indonesia, spanning from November 16th to November 17th, as announced by the Ministry of Defence.

Bilateral Engagements

During the event, Singh will engage in bilateral meetings with the Defence Ministers of the participating countries. These one-on-one sessions will be dedicated to addressing and discussing various aspects of defence cooperation.

Key Topics on the Agenda

The Defence Minister is scheduled to address the forum on the first day of the meeting, focusing on regional and international security issues. This underscores the significance of the gathering in addressing pressing challenges and fostering collaboration among the nations involved.

ADMM as the Pinnacle of Consultation

The release from the Defence Ministry emphasizes that the ADMM serves as the preeminent defence consultative and cooperative mechanism within ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations).

ADMM-Plus Annual Meetings

Since 2017, the ADMM-Plus Ministers have been convening annually to enhance collaboration among ASEAN member countries and the Plus countries. Indonesia has taken the lead in hosting this year’s meeting, holding the chairmanship of ADMM-Plus. This underscores the nation’s pivotal role in fostering regional defence cooperation.
