Expressing his gratitude, Hooda shared his sentiments, stating, “I feel honored to receive this award from a family closely associated with Savarkar.” The actor’s portrayal of the influential figure Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in the biopic has garnered widespread acclaim.

“Swatantrya Veer Savarkar”

Directed by Randeep Hooda himself, “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” offers a cinematic portrayal of one of India’s most influential and controversial figures during the struggle for independence. The biopic retells the story of India’s armed revolution for freedom, shedding light on Savarkar’s pivotal role.

The ceremony also honored Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan with the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award for his exceptional contributions to Indian cinema. Singer Usha Mangeshkar, a member of the renowned Mangeshkar family, presented the award to Bachchan, celebrating his iconic legacy.

The biopic, produced by Zee Studios, Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh, Randeep Hooda, and Yogesh Rahar, features Hooda in the lead role, alongside Ankita Lokhande and Amit Sial. Released on March 22 in both Hindi and Marathi languages, the film offers a unique perspective on India’s quest for independence.
