His decision followed similar announcements from captain Rohit Sharma and veteran cricketer Virat Kohli, who also decided to step away from the shortest format of the game. Jadeja’s contribution to Indian cricket has been immense, with his all-round abilities often turning the tide in India’s favour. In the T20 World Cup 2024, Jadeja’s campaign was a mix of highs and lows. Although he managed just one wicket from seven innings at an economy of 7.57 and an average of 106, he showed his mettle with the bat in crucial matches. He played handy knocks of 9* off 5 balls against Australia and 17* off 9 balls in the semifinal against England.
