Sarvesh Kushare Wins Silver Medal in Men's High Jump at Commonwealth Games 2026
Sarvesh Anil Kushare won silver in the men’s high jump in Glasgow. The Indian national record holder successfully jumped over 2.25 metres, with this he achieved the first medal at a multi-sport tournament and breaking the India’s previous bronze medal record in the event at the Commonwealth Games.
Sarvesh Kushare remained calm and focused during his performance in the finals.
He had a best jump of 2.25 metres, which he achieved on the last chance.
However, attempts to jump 2.28 metres were unsuccessful.
Although Jamaica’s Romaine Beckford also failed to achieve this height, he was awarded with the gold since he previously jumped 2.25 metres.
Scotland’s Jack Kimani finished third with his best results of 2.20 metres.

The silver medal earned at the Commonwealth Games is the first important multi-sport medal in Sarvesh Kushare’s career.
