SatSure & Dhruva Space to Offer End-to-End Earth Observation Solutions

In a landmark move to boost India’s sovereign space-based observation capabilities, SatSure, a Bengaluru-based Earth Observation and decision intelligence firm, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dhruva Space, a Hyderabad-headquartered full-stack space solutions provider. The strategic collaboration will integrate SatSure’s analytical capabilities with Dhruva Space’s satellite platforms and infrastructure to deliver end-to-end solutions for both commercial and strategic users.

Why in News?

The MoU, signed in June 2025, reflects growing synergy in India’s private space sector aimed at strengthening self-reliance in Earth Observation (EO) services and platform development. This comes amid global demand for fast, integrated satellite solutions and India’s rising ambition to become a key player in the space economy beyond ISRO-led missions.

Objectives and Aims

  • To create a vertically integrated, indigenous space ecosystem.
  • Provide end-to-end EO solutions, from payload development to data analytics.
  • Accelerate mission timelines and deliver insights for critical sectors like agriculture, defence, and urban planning.
  • Serve both strategic and commercial customers with home-grown technologies.

Key Components of the Partnership

  • SatSure brings its subsidiary KaleidEO, which has built high-resolution optical and multispectral payloads.
  • Dhruva Space contributes its small satellite platform expertise, system integration, launch services, and ground station infrastructure.
  • The partnership offers a “one-stop-shop” space-based service portfolio, enhancing access to satellite data and actionable intelligence.

Background Context

  • SatSure, founded with the vision to democratize satellite data usage for non-traditional industries, spun off KaleidEO in 2022.
  • Dhruva Space has developed significant space heritage over 4 years and is building India’s first 280,000 sq. ft spacecraft manufacturing facility in Hyderabad.
  • The facility will cater to spacecraft up to 500 kg, focusing on design, assembly, integration, and testing.

Static Facts

  • MoU signed in June 2025.
  • Dhruva Space’s new facility will be India’s first of its kind for complete satellite manufacturing.
  • KaleidEO is already equipped with two advanced EO payloads.

Significance of the Collaboration

  • This partnership strengthens India’s space industrial base, enabling faster deployment and cost-effective access to EO data.
  • It also aligns with the national objective of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) by reducing dependence on foreign platforms and expanding private sector capabilities.
  • The integration of analytics + platforms allows India to cater to global demand for advanced satellite observation services.
