SCO Summit 2026 in Bishkek: Dates, Venue, Agenda and Member States
The SCO Summit 2026 is scheduled to feature leaders and representatives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, during the period of August 31 – September 1, 2026. The importance of this particular summit lies in the fact that the organisation celebrates its 25 years since its creation. It shows that SCO has become an important actor in ensuring regional security, cooperation and connectivity in the region of Eurasia.
The SCO Summit 2026 will be held under the theme of “25 years of the SCO: Together Towards Sustainable Peace, Development and Prosperity.” As follows from the name of the summit, the issues of security, counterterrorism, transport connectivity, trade and energy cooperation are expected to be discussed at the summit.
The SCO Summit 2026 is planned to be held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, during the period of August 31 – September 1, 2026.
It is worth mentioning that Kyrgyzstan hosts the summit as the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation celebrates its 25 years since the time of its foundation. It means that the representatives of the SCO member states are expected to participate in this summit.
This particular summit is taking place during a period of rapid geopolitical and economic changes in Eurasia. The SCO has become a forum through which the member countries could come together to discuss security issues while also engaging in economic and connectivity projects.
The fact that it will be the 25th anniversary of the organisation has made the Bishkek summit even more significant. In terms of membership, the organisation has expanded greatly since its early days and now includes major powers from both Asia and Europe.
Discussions at the summit are expected to emphasise the SCO’s emphasis on stability, development, connectivity and economic cooperation.
