India’s Standings in Asian Games 2023

As a result of this exceptional performance, India has climbed to the fourth position in the points table at the Asian Games 2023. This achievement not only showcases India’s prowess in shooting sports but also adds to the nation’s overall medal tally.

Women’s Team Shines with Silver

In another notable event, the Indian women’s shooting team, comprised of Palak, Esha Singh, and Divya Subbaraju, clinched a silver medal in the 10m air pistol team event. Their impressive performance highlights the depth of talent in Indian shooting sports.

Overall Medal Haul for Team India

With these recent victories, the Indian contingent at the Asian Games 2023 has amassed a total of 27 medals. The breakdown includes 7 gold, 9 silver, and 11 bronze medals. This remarkable achievement underscores India’s commitment to excellence in various sporting disciplines.

India’s Glorious Past Performance

Recalling the 2018 Asian Games held in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, it’s evident that India has consistently performed well on the international stage. In that edition, the Indian contingent secured a total of 70 medals, including 16 gold, 23 silver, and 31 bronze medals. It remains one of India’s most impressive showings in the history of the Asian Games.

Current Medal Standings

In the ongoing Asian Games, China continues to dominate the medal standings with an astounding total of 167 medals, consisting of 90 gold, 51 silver, and 26 bronze. South Korea holds the second position with 24 gold, 23 silver, and 39 bronze medals, bringing their total to 86. Meanwhile, Japan stands in third place with 18 gold, 30 silver, and 30 bronze medals.
