Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards 2024 Announced
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has declared the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards (TNNAA) 2024 awarding four persons with outstanding contribution and achievements in adventure activities. The categories covered by the awards include Land Adventure, Water Adventure, Air Adventure, and Lifetime Achievement. The award is an acknowledgment of attributes such as courage, endurance, discipline, team spirit and fast decision-making skills in adverse conditions. The recipients will get the award from the President of India in Rashtrapati Bhavan, along with the National Sports Awards 2025, which will be held on a different date.
The Government has sanctioned four awardees after considering the recommendations of the National Selection Committee.

The list contains two awardees under Land Adventure, one under Water Adventure and one under Lifetime Achievement while there is no recipient under Air Adventure.
Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award is a national recognition given in appreciation for excellence in adventure sports. It is named after Tenzing Norgay who was one of the pioneer mountaineers in the conquest of Mount Everest.
In addition to personal excellence, these awards also inspire youth to build qualities of resilience, boldness, discipline and collaborative team work. Besides, they stress on the need for effective decision making under difficult circumstances.
₹15 lakh along with a statuette and certificate will be awarded to each of the TNNAA 2024 awardees.
These awards will be presented by the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan. This will be done during the National Sports Awards 2025 ceremony.
The winners were chosen according to the recommendations provided by the members of the National Selection Committee.
The committee considered all the nominations and carried out the necessary scrutiny before making the recommendations to the government.
These awards have been instituted to promote adventure culture in India and increase participation in adventure-related activities.
The aim is to motivate youngsters to undertake daring ventures by instilling discipline and cooperation among them.
