India’s overall exports (Merchandise and Services combined) in June 2023* is estimated to be USD 60.09 Billion, exhibiting a negative growth of (-) 13.16 per cent over June 2022. Overall imports in June 2023* is estimated to be USD 68.98 Billion, exhibiting a negative growth of (-) 13.91 per cent over June 2022. India’s overall exports (Merchandise and Services combined) in April-June 2023 is estimated to exhibit a negative growth of (-) 7.29 per cent over April-June 2022. Overall imports in April-June 2023 is estimated to exhibit a negative growth of (-) 10.18 per cent over April-June 2022.
2. Wholesale Price Index for June, 2023 (provisional) stands at (-) 4.12% against (-) 3.48% recorded in May, 2023
The annual rate of inflation based on all India Wholesale Price Index (WPI) number is(-) 4.12% (provisional) for the month of June, 2023 (over June, 2022) against (-) 3.48% recorded in May, 2023. The decline in the rate of inflation in June, 2023 is primarily due tofall in prices of mineral oils, food products, basic metals, crude petroleum & natural gas andtextiles.
WPI Food Index (Weight 24.38%): The Food Index consisting of ‘Food Articles’ from Primary Articles group and ‘Food Product’ from Manufactured Products group has increased from 172.8 in May, 2023 to 175.2 in June, 2023. The annual rate of inflation (Y-o-Y) based on WPI Food Index changed from (-) 1.59% in May, 2023 to (-) 1.24% in June, 2023.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was conferred with the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, France’s highest award today by H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic of France.
