UNGA Annalena Baerbock to Visit India on April 28 for Talks on Global Cooperation

Annalena Baerbock the President of the United Nations General Assembly is set to visit the India on the April 28 and it will marked her first trip after assuming this role. This visit will highlights the India’s growing importance in the global diplomacy and the multilateral cooperation. She will engage with several Indian leaders to discuss to pressing global challenges and will strengthen partnerships under the United Nations framework along with to focusing on peace, development and international cooperation.

Key Focus: Strengthening Multilateral Cooperation

During her visit Baerbock will emphasize the importance of the multilateralism and the need to uphold the UN Charter. With countries like India as it playing a important role in the global governance this discussions will focus on to tackling the international challenges such as the conflicts, economic instability and climate change. This visit aims to reinforce the cooperation across the different three pillars of the United Nations peace and security, sustainable development and human rights which is ensuring the more coordinated global response.

High-Level Meetings in India

She is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with External Affairs Minister of India S. Jaishankar. She will also meet the officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology which is along with the UN country team in India. After concluding her India visit Baerbock will travel to the China on April 29-30. In China she will meet Vice President Han Zheng and Foreign Minister Wang Yi along with the UN country team. The back-to-back visits to the Asian country like India and China signal the UN’s focus on to the engaging major global players to strengthen the international cooperation and address global challenges collectively.
