Union Minister Annpurna Devi Inaugurates PANKHUDI Portal to Improve Services and Support for Women and Children

The Government of India focuses strongly on the welfare and empowerment of women and children. To strengthen these efforts, the Ministry of Women and Child Development launched PANKHUDI, a digital portal that connects government, citizens, NGOs, and corporate contributors to work together for social development. The portal was launched on 8 January 2026 by Union Minister Smt. Annpurna Devi.

What is PANKHUDI?

PANKHUDI is a single-window digital platform designed to bring together individuals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), NGOs, corporates, and government agencies. It allows them to contribute to women and child development programs in a structured, transparent, and accountable way.

Purpose of the Portal

The portal aims to:

  • Promote coordination and collaboration among all stakeholders.
  • Support initiatives in nutrition, health, early childhood care, child welfare, protection, and women’s empowerment.
  • Enable monitoring and tracking of contributions and projects.
  • Encourage transparency and trust through technology, as emphasized by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

How PANKHUDI Works?

Through the portal, contributors can:

  • Register themselves and their organizations.
  • Identify initiatives where support is needed.
  • Submit proposals and monitor the progress of their contributions.
  • Ensure that all contributions are made through non-cash modes for financial transparency.

Supporting Major Missions

PANKHUDI strengthens the implementation of the Ministry’s flagship missions:

  • Mission Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0 – Focused on nutrition and early childhood care.
  • Mission Vatsalya – Focused on child welfare and protection.
  • Mission Shakti – Focused on women’s safety and empowerment.

Benefits of the Portal

  • Easier CSR and partnership contributions for corporates and individuals.
  • Improved coordination across government, NGOs, and civil society.
  • Better monitoring and accountability of initiatives.
  • Supports over 14 lakh Anganwadi Centres, 5000 Child Care Institutions, 800 One Stop Centres, 500 Shakhi Niwas, and 400 Shakti Sadan across India.
  • Leads to better infrastructure and services for women and children nationwide.
