Union Minister Inaugurates Three CIPET Centers Across India
Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers and Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, virtually inaugurated three centers of the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) from New Delhi. These centers, located in Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh, are significant additions to CIPET’s network.
This center aims to provide skill development training to unemployed youth and offer long-term courses in plastics technology. It also seeks to provide technical support services and promote polymer and allied industries in the region, ultimately ensuring employment or self-employment for trained students.
Established in 2016, this center operates in a makeshift campus provided by the state government. It offers similar programs as the Baddi center and has received initial support for construction from the government. The center is focused on providing skill development training and technical support services to promote the polymer industry in the region.
Located in Ranchi, Jharkhand, this center offers skill development training and long-term diploma courses in plastics technology. It also provides technical support services and aims to facilitate employment opportunities for its trained students. The center operates in a facility provided by the government of Jharkhand and has been functional since its inauguration in 2017.
The institute has directed its research towards industry needs, including solar cell technology, gas separation, water purification, and polymer research. The opening of these CIPET centers signifies a major advancement for India’s petrochemical sector, emphasizing skill development, research, and innovation to foster industry growth and self-sufficiency.
