Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar Opens 2 STPI Centers In Thiruvananthapuram & Kochi

At the 4th Semicon India FutureDesign Roadshow in Kerala, Union Minister Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar lauded the remarkable progress of India’s semiconductor industry under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He emphasized the transformative role of technology and semiconductor engineering in shaping India’s future.

Accelerating India’s Processor Design and Manufacturing Capabilities

During the event, Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar facilitated a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IBM and C-DAC. This partnership aims to propel India’s processor design and manufacturing capabilities for High-Performance Computing (HPC), marking a pivotal moment in India’s technological advancement.

Bharat Semiconductor Research Centre: A Catalyst for Innovation

Highlighting the importance of fostering innovation ecosystems, the Minister announced the establishment of the Bharat Semiconductor Research Centre (BSRC) with a regional center at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) in Thiruvananthapuram. This initiative is poised to bolster the startup and tech landscape, fueling entrepreneurial spirit and technological innovation.

Strengthening Kerala’s IT Infrastructure

In a bid to bolster Kerala’s electronics, IT sector, and startup ecosystem, Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar inaugurated new Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) centers in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi. These state-of-the-art facilities are set to provide essential support to emerging tech startups, empowering them to compete on a global scale.

FutureDesign: Empowering Indian Startups in Semiconductors

Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar unveiled FutureDESIGN, a visionary program aimed at empowering startups and fostering an Indian innovation ecosystem in the semiconductor domain. Emphasizing the immense potential for innovation, he urged young Indians and startups to seize the opportunities offered by the burgeoning semiconductor sector.

Towards an Atmanirbhar Bharat in Semiconductor Industry

Underscoring the government’s commitment to building an Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India), Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar highlighted strategic initiatives to nurture a vibrant semiconductor ecosystem. He outlined plans to allocate significant funding to support semiconductor startups and propel India’s leadership in semiconductor design, innovation, and manufacturing.
